Adult bunk bed

The adult bunk bed: elegance, function, and durability

Far from the childlike image sometimes associated with it, the adult bunk bed is now an elegant, structured, and distinctly modern sleeping solution. Ideal for furnishing a studio, guest room, second home, or guesthouse, it combines efficient use of space, high-end comfort, and timeless design.

At Maison Aveni, we reimagine this classic piece for adults in an understated and sophisticated form. Each bunk bed is designed to last, using high-quality, responsibly sourced materials in French or European workshops known for their craftsmanship.

Why choose a bunk bed as an adult?

Short on space but unwilling to give up elegance? The adult bunk bed is a smart, stylish space-saving answer to both needs. It adds sleeping spaces without compromising the room’s flow. Unlike a simple daybed or sleeper sofa, it offers real mattresses on proper bed bases for excellent sleeping comfort, even with everyday use.

Whether you’re furnishing a room for two, creating a sleeping area in a small space, or welcoming family and friends without turning your home into a dorm, an adult bunk bed is a stylish and practical alternative.

What are the advantages of a bunk bed for adults?

1. A smart way to save space

In contemporary homes where every square foot counts, furniture that defines the space while freeing it up is a valuable asset. With its vertical design, the adult bunk bed provides two full sleeping spaces in a compact footprint, while leaving floor space clear and offering storage for your belongings in the drawers.

2. Comfort designed to last

Our models are designed to support adult weights, with sturdy frames, solid bed bases, and suitable mattresses. They are made for regular or even daily use, to the same standards as our conventional beds.

3. Understated, timeless design

Gone are the childlike shapes and loud colors: our adult bunk beds feature clean lines, soft shades, and carefully considered finishes. Their style fits harmoniously into contemporary, bohemian, Scandinavian, or minimalist interiors.

4. Local, responsible manufacturing

True to our commitment, we work exclusively with French or European workshops and prioritize durable materials: solid wood or FSC/PEFC-certified MDF, solvent-free natural finishes, reinforced hardware… Every detail is designed to bring together durability, safety, and beauty.

Who is an adult bunk bed for?

This type of bed suits anyone who wants to sleep more people comfortably without needing more space:

• Parents who want to furnish a room shared by two children or teenagers.
• Owners of vacation rentals or second homes who want to offer two sleeping spaces without adding more beds.
• City dwellers who want to save space in an apartment or small bedroom.
• Blended families with changing sleeping arrangements.
• Welcoming hosts who enjoy having guests while keeping their guest room elegant and adaptable.

How does it differ from a loft bed or trundle bed?

Choosing between options for sleeping two people isn’t always easy. Here are a few points to help you decide:

• The adult bunk bed offers two permanent sleeping spaces, one above the other, that are always ready to use.
• A loft bed frees up space underneath, often used for a desk or seating area, but requires higher ceilings.
• An adult trundle bed is lower and pulls out when needed. It suits people who prefer a flexible sleeping arrangement closer to floor level, particularly in guest rooms.

What should you consider when choosing an adult bunk bed?

A stable, safe structure

A good high-end bunk bed should be built to last, with thick posts, concealed reinforcements, discreet but sturdy safety rails, and certified materials.

A harmonious design

Light wood for a gentle atmosphere, dark finishes for a graphic touch, minimalist lines or warm details… Each model is designed to bring style to your room without visual clutter.

Ethical manufacturing

Each piece comes from considered production, often in small batches, using responsibly sourced materials. We favor European wood, small-scale workshops, and short supply chains.

How do you care for a high-end bunk bed?

Our bunk beds are designed to last, and a little care will help keep them in good condition for years. Regular dusting, gentle cleaning with natural products (black soap or diluted white vinegar), and frequent airing of the mattresses are enough to preserve their beauty and comfort.

What’s more, their disassemblable, repairable design means a part can be replaced if necessary rather than discarding the whole bed. It’s our way of fighting obsolescence and encouraging responsible consumption.

Models designed for everyday life

We offer different configurations to meet your needs:

• 90x190 cm adult bunk bed: the most compact version, ideal for daily or regular use.
• 90x200 cm bunk bed: slightly longer, ideal for taller people or professional use.
• Bunk bed with built-in storage: concealed drawers or cubbies to make even better use of space.
• Solid wood bunk bed: for a warm look, exceptional sturdiness, and a distinctly natural feel.

All our models are delivered as kits, with straightforward assembly and clear instructions. They also come with a 3-year warranty, reflecting our commitment to quality.
