Fabric armchairs bring a soft, textured presence to the living room. This selection highlights bouclé, light colors and enveloping shapes. Compare the upholstery, seat height and support to choose an armchair that suits your posture and the room’s atmosphere.

Choose an armchair for its texture and comfort
A bouclé or velvet armchair first draws the eye with its material. Texture, feel and the way color catches the light give the chair a distinct presence. Your choice should still take posture into account. A soft fabric alone does not determine back support, usable seat depth or how easily you can get up.
The current selection features bouclé armchairs and other fabrics, with low-profile or more upright shapes. We invite you to compare the dimensions and material composition of the model you choose. Texture describes the upholstery’s appearance; it does not guarantee a natural fiber or a cleaning method suitable for every chair.
Bouclé texture in the decor
Bouclé adds a textured surface that stands out even in a subtle shade. It can warm up a living room with smooth furniture or complement a light color palette. Upholstered shapes highlight this texture on the armrests and back. Depending on the model, richer colors can also make the armchair a focal point.
The Elio model is an example of a low bouclé chair in the collection, with a listed seat height of 37 cm. This proportion offers a different sitting position from a taller armchair. It’s worth choosing with your needs in mind, especially if you like a relaxed posture. The fabric name is no substitute for comparing seat height and depth.
Compare fabrics without confusing their composition
Upholstery can look textured while being made of polyester. Material composition details tell you what it is made from beyond its descriptive name. Also check the care instructions and whether the cover is removable. A removable cover does not automatically mean it can be machine washed.
If you’re looking for a velvet chair with another feature, see the swivel armchairs, some of which have velvet upholstery. You can then combine texture with the ability to change direction. Assess the mechanism and seating comfort separately: an extra feature won’t make up for a depth or height that doesn’t suit you.
Choose an enveloping or more open shape
A low back and rounded shape give the chair an enveloping feel. They can suit a relaxing space where you like to settle in comfortably. For extended reading, consider the back support and armrest position. The chair’s overall width includes its sides and does not describe the full usable seat space.
A Scandinavian armchair with visible wood offers a different look, with more open lines. Comparing the two can help clarify what you want: the shape of an upholstered chair, the design of the armrests or a more upright seat. We recommend considering these factors together to choose a chair you’ll enjoy using every day.
Pair the armchair with the sofa
The armchair can echo a shade in the sofa without using exactly the same fabric. A large bouclé seat can be paired with a more understated chair, or vice versa. If both pieces are highly textured, keep the rug and accessories simpler. This lets the materials stand out without adding too many contrasts to a small area.
A marble or marble-look coffee table creates a mineral contrast with the softness of the fabric. Wood can also connect the seating with the rest of the decor. Consider the table height from the armchair, especially if the chair is low. The pairing works when it is as practical as it is visually cohesive.
Place the armchair in a comfortable spot
Leave room in front of the chair to sit down and stand up. Near a window, keep the curtains and window opening accessible. A beige living room rug can define a softer corner, provided the chair rests securely on it and you account for the rug’s thickness. A lamp and a small surface within reach complete the space without crowding it.
For care, regularly remove dust with a suitable attachment and follow the upholstery instructions if a stain occurs. Avoid actions that snag the loops or pull threads. Finally, choose a color you like in the room’s actual light. The armchair can then bring texture to the living room while offering the posture and ease of use you’re looking for.
