Computer and Home Office Desk

Which desk should you choose for working from home?

A home workspace needs to accommodate your equipment while leaving a clear area for writing and handling documents. Our selection includes straight desks, corner models, desktops with drawers, and larger configurations. Before choosing, list the monitor, keyboard, docking station, lamp, and accessories that will stay on the desk. This helps you assess how much surface area you need without choosing a desk larger than necessary.

How deep should a desk be for a computer monitor?

The desk should be deep enough to place the monitor at a comfortable distance and support your forearms. The depth you need depends on the monitor’s size, its stand, and whether you use a separate keyboard. A wider desktop makes it easier to work with two monitors or open files. Always check the desktop dimensions, not just the overall width, especially if the desk has a rear frame or storage.

Straight desk or corner desk?

A straight desk suits a linear setup and is easy to move when rearranging a room. A corner desk naturally separates the computer area from the space for paperwork. Lino has a reversible return, and Théa offers several assembly configurations, but these features are specific to those models. Measure both walls and the available walking space before choosing a corner configuration.

How should you organize cables?

Place the desk near an outlet without stretching cords across a walkway. Gather power cords, monitor cables, and accessory cables beneath the desktop with suitable ties. Some models offer cable openings; this feature does not apply to the entire selection. Check whether openings are present and where they are located, since they need to suit the positions of the monitor and outlets.

What storage do you need for everyday work?

Drawers keep chargers and supplies out of sight. An open compartment holds frequently used items, while a drawer unit suits bulkier files. Explore desks with storage to compare configurations. Make sure there’s enough space beneath the desktop: ample storage should not force you to sit off-center or restrict the chair’s movement.

Create an ergonomic workspace at home

Adjust your chair so your feet rest on the floor and your forearms are supported without raising your shoulders. Position the top of the monitor at a comfortable height and change positions regularly. The desk provides the foundation of your setup, but lighting, seating, and how you organize your time also contribute to comfort. An adjustable lamp supplements natural light when the room is dimmer.

Which material is best for regular use?

The selection includes desks made from engineered wood panels and models in solid mango wood, sometimes paired with metal. Each construction has its own appearance and care instructions. A solid wood desk highlights the natural material; a white desk has a more understated presence. Check the composition, finish, and recommended weight limits on the product page.

Work from home in a multipurpose room

In a living room or adult bedroom, choose a desk that can look orderly again after work. Enclosed storage and simple cable management make that transition easier. A small desk suits a limited amount of equipment; our bedroom desk category focuses on fitting into a space used for rest. The aim is to balance work requirements with a harmonious home.

Plan a lasting setup

Before ordering, check delivery access, assembled dimensions, storage placement, and assembly requirements. Protect the desktop with a desk mat if you use it intensively, and dust equipment regularly. Explore all the finishes in our selection of desks to choose a workspace that suits your room and habits.
