Adult trundle beds

The adult trundle bed: smart furniture with an elegant purpose

Long confined to children’s bedrooms, the adult trundle bed is returning in a premium form designed for contemporary, welcoming, and thoughtfully furnished homes. More than an extra place to sleep, it becomes a statement piece that enhances a space while remaining practical.

At Maison Aveni, we reinterpret this piece with our usual attention to detail: clean lines, carefully considered finishes, and beautiful, durable materials. Every trundle bed is designed to be part of your life with a gentle, understated presence, without sacrificing comfort or style.

What is an adult trundle bed?

An adult trundle bed consists of a main bed and a second sleeping space tucked underneath, which can be pulled out or raised in one motion. When closed, it looks like a single bed or a clean-lined daybed. When open, it provides two proper sleeping spaces, side by side or separate, depending on your needs.

This ingenious design makes it ideal for small spaces or multipurpose rooms: a guest room, home office, studio, or vacation home… It lets you welcome guests without clutter or last-minute arrangements.

Why choose an adult trundle bed for your home?

1. Space-saving design that is subtle and elegant
Unlike sofa beds or Murphy beds, which often look bulky, the trundle bed stands out for its clean lines and slim profile. It blends elegantly into minimalist, bohemian, or contemporary decor.

2. Genuine sleeping comfort
With slatted bed bases and room for two quality mattresses, an adult trundle bed supports restful sleep, even with regular use. It is a premium alternative to a conventional guest bed.

3. Responsible manufacturing, designed to last
In keeping with our ethical approach, our trundle beds are designed in France or elsewhere in Europe using wood from sustainably managed forests (FSC or PEFC), with VOC-free natural finishes. Every piece is made to stand the test of time, be repaired if needed, and never go out of style.

Who is an adult trundle bed right for?

An adult trundle bed is for anyone who wants to:

• Make the most of your space without compromising on style
• Welcome guests with ease without adding bulky furniture
• Create an elegant guest room or a multipurpose home office
• Offer a comfortable place to sleep in a studio or vacation rental
• Plan for the future in a child’s bedroom that will evolve over time

Its understated look and versatility make it ideal for discerning city dwellers, thoughtful hosts, and organized families.

How do you choose an adult trundle bed?

Your trundle bed should suit your space, daily routines, and sense of style. To make the right choice, consider the dimensions, opening mechanism, whether mattresses are included, as well as the materials and finish. The goal? To find the right balance of comfort, practicality, and refinement in a piece that fits naturally into your home and stays with you for years.

What size trundle bed should you choose?

Our models are available with a main bed measuring 90 × 190 cm or 90 × 200 cm. The second bed generally has the same dimensions, ensuring a consistent sleeping setup.

Which opening mechanism should you choose?

Some models simply slide out, while others have a lift-up frame that creates a double bed. In both cases, we choose sturdy, smooth-operating mechanisms designed to last.

With or without mattresses?

We also offer mattresses selected for their comfort, support, and durability, perfectly suited to our trundle beds. Or you can choose a bed on its own and pair it with mattresses of your choice.
