Bed

The bed: the centerpiece of an adult bedroom

There’s no overlooking it: the bed is the heart of the room. It shapes the space, guides the layout, and sets the mood. Every bed is designed to last, with wood from sustainably managed forests, natural VOC-free varnish finishes, and manufacturing in France or Western Europe. The result? A modern bedroom furniture piece that combines clean lines with authentic warmth and stays timeless as trends come and go.

Different types of beds

1. Double and queen-size beds

The enduring classic is the double bed. Available in 140 × 190 cm for those who prefer a traditional size or queen size (160 × 200 cm) for those who like more room, it can be paired with a wooden or upholstered headboard for an instant decorative touch.

2. Beds with storage and lift-up storage beds

Make the most of every inch with our beds with storage. Built-in drawers or an assisted-lift storage bed: no more bulky winter comforters getting in the way! These discreet solutions are easy to operate and well ventilated to protect your bedding.

3. Daybeds and adult trundle beds

For a studio apartment, guest room, or reading nook, the daybed changes with your needs throughout the day. Slide out a trundle and it becomes an adult trundle bed: two sleeping spaces in an instant, without sacrificing the room’s design or atmosphere.

4. Double loft beds and adult bunk beds

Small spaces need not limit your options. The loft bed for two people frees up floor space for a desk, reading nook, or sitting area underneath, while the adult bunk bed sleeps two in premium comfort. With sturdy slatted bed bases and a guardrail designed for peace of mind, you can rest easy.

5. Twin beds and children’s beds

The twin bed is no longer just for children. Today, it appeals to fans of clean design, thoughtfully arranged small spaces, and flexible interiors. In a guest room, studio apartment, child’s bedroom, or multipurpose office, our twin beds combine understated style, craftsmanship, and practicality. Each model strikes a balance between aesthetics, comfort, and durability.

Which bed should you choose? A few pointers to help you decide

• Lifestyle: love to read? Choose a large solid wood headboard, perfect for propping up pillows, or an upholstered one for its softness.
• Available space: in a bedroom of 10 m² or less, choose a 140 × 190 bed or a model with storage.
• Design: a bed in light solid pine evokes Scandinavia, dark walnut creates understated luxury, and oak with visible knots conveys authenticity.
• Features: drawers, storage compartment, adjustable bed height… everything can be configured for a truly customized bed.

What size bed should you choose?

Tip: allow at least 60 cm of clearance around the bed so you can move easily.

How should you position your bed for restful sleep?

Age-old traditions such as feng shui align with ergonomic common sense. Ideally:

• Headboard facing northwest or west: an orientation considered the most restful.
• Away from the door, but with a clear view of the entrance for a sense of security.
• Avoid windows above the bed to reduce drafts and direct light.

The winning trio: bed base, mattress, and headboard

A beautiful frame is not enough; comfort comes from the combination of the bed base, mattress, and headboard.

• Bed base: flexible wooden slats, or stitched bases for the storage versions.
• Mattress: high-resilience foam, pocket springs, or natural latex; choose a firmness that suits your body type.
• Headboard: carved wood, minimalist cane, or textured fabric; it creates a focal point in your decor and makes reading in bed more comfortable.

Corporate responsibility: sleep more responsibly

Buying a Maison Aveni bed means supporting a short supply chain. 90% of the components come from France or neighboring countries, reducing the carbon footprint. The adhesives are water-based, the packaging is 100% recyclable, and every order is handled responsibly. Choosing your premium bed is also a tangible step for the planet.

Quality materials: choosing durable solid wood

Each solid wood bed is made from FSC- or PEFC-certified pine, oak, or beech. The wood is dried slowly for stability, then crafted using traditional techniques: mortise-and-tenon joints and hand-applied finishes. The result is a sturdy bed that is healthy and naturally elegant, telling the story of the forest it came from. To suit different tastes, our collection also includes refined veneered versions and upholstered models with a luxurious feel: the perfect bed to enhance your bedroom.
