What size duvet cover should you choose?

Compare how different weaves feel

Percale is valued for its even, crisp feel. Cotton sateen feels smoother and softer. Solid-color organic cotton is another option for bedding that is easy to coordinate. The feel you prefer against your skin is the best starting point.

Read the fiber content, too: sateen describes a weave, not a fiber in itself. The detailed specifications help you understand what you are choosing rather than relying on the fabric’s appearance alone.

Solid colors or stripes for your bedroom?

A solid-color cover creates a large, visually calm area. It can highlight a textured headboard or wood furniture. Stripes make a stronger visual statement while remaining easy to pair with other pieces if the palette shares a few colors.

Coordinate your pillowcases with the cover or choose a subtle variation. A fitted sheet can pick up a color from the pattern to tie the pieces together without requiring every item to match exactly.

Plan for use and bedding changes

Before choosing, check the construction and care instructions for the model. Ease of washing and drying matters when a large item needs regular care. Make sure you have enough space to dry it completely.

A second cover lets you alternate without waiting for the first to dry. When making the bed, spread the duvet into the corners and check that it lies fully open inside the cover.

Care for your chosen fabric

Follow the care label, particularly the wash temperature and any tumble-drying instructions. The solid-color, pure organic cotton model referenced recommends washing at 40 °C. The cover’s care instructions do not automatically apply to the duvet inside it.
