Nesting coffee table
Nesting coffee tables let you rearrange surfaces around the sofa. Grouped together or placed throughout the living room as their construction allows, they adapt to shared moments and changes in layout. Compare each piece’s dimensions, height, and materials to choose a set that is easy to move.

Multiple tables for a living room that changes with you
A nesting coffee table offers flexibility. Multiple tabletops let you place objects near different seats, then rearrange the center of the room. This can be useful when you have guests or enjoy changing your layout. It offers an alternative to one large surface, with pieces that work together while retaining some independence.
Our selection includes solid wood sets and combinations of wood and marble. Shapes and height differences vary by model. We recommend looking at how the pieces are arranged in the photos, then comparing their measurements. The term “nesting” does not necessarily mean the tables extend, have wheels, or fit completely inside one another.
Understand how the pieces fit together
The design of the bases determines how the tables can be grouped. Some tops can overlap at different heights; other arrangements require some pieces to remain side by side. It is therefore important to measure the set in the arrangement you will use most often. Its footprint is not always limited to the dimensions of the largest table.
The Solen set includes two solid mango wood tables of different heights. This example shows why it helps to check the dimensions of each piece rather than assuming the set has one small top and one large one. To compare an option with a continuous surface, explore our large coffee tables as well. The right choice depends on how you use the center of your living room.
Place surfaces near different seats
One table can stay in front of the sofa while another moves closer to an armchair, if the set’s design allows it. Each person then has a nearby surface for a book or cup. Before choosing, check the height in relation to the different seats. A table that works well with the sofa may be too low beside a taller armchair.
With a sectional sofa, the tables can follow the seating arrangement without forcing a single tabletop into the corner. Keep a clear way into the seating area, and avoid creating narrow walkways between the tables. The flexibility to arrange them is most useful when it makes movement easier rather than adding obstacles to the floor.
An option to consider with a sleeper sofa
If you use your living room as a sleeping space every day, multiple tables may make it easier to clear the center of the room. You still need to be able to move them comfortably and find a place for them at night. Check each piece’s weight and handling instructions. A stone top does not move in the same way as a lightweight table, even if it looks compact.
Mark out the space needed to open your sleeper sofa, too. The tables need to fit in a second position without blocking access to the bed, door, or storage. Planning ahead makes the conversion easier. It also lets you check whether a set works better in your room than a single table that might be simpler to move.
Choose materials and shapes
Solid wood gives the different pieces a cohesive, warm look. A wood-and-marble combination creates more contrast between the top and base. In either case, compare the materials used in each part. A description of solid wood may refer to the support beneath a stone top. Our marble-effect and marble coffee tables offer more ways to explore this stone-inspired look.
Square tables create a geometric centerpiece, while more rounded shapes introduce a different rhythm. To compare a single top with clean lines, explore our square coffee tables. In a set, the difference in height is already part of the design: a few simple accessories are often enough to highlight the shapes.
Arrange objects without covering every tabletop
You can reserve one table for decorative objects and leave the other available for everyday use. This gives each surface a clear purpose. It also means you will not need to move several objects whenever you want to bring a table closer. Fragile items should be placed securely and kept away from areas where the tabletops cross when moved.
For care, follow the recommendations for each material and use suitable coasters or mats beneath hot or damp objects. Protect the floor when moving the tables, in keeping with the product instructions. Explore the available sets and choose nesting tables whose proportions and layout suit the way you entertain, read, and use your living room.
