Natural and organic mattresses
Our selection of natural and organic mattresses features different materials depending on the model, including natural latex, coconut coir, hemp, and organic cotton fabrics. We invite you to review the composition of each layer to choose a mattress that matches your preferences.
What do natural and organic mean for a mattress?
These terms may refer to a material, a cover, or part of the filling. They do not necessarily describe the entire product. A mattress with an organic cotton ticking, for example, may have a foam core or a spring system.
To make an informed choice, distinguish three elements: the outer fabric, the comfort layers, and the support structure. Looking at each separately helps you compare very different constructions without relying solely on their product names.
Latex, coconut coir, and hemp: several combinations
Part of the collection combines latex with plant fibers such as coconut coir or hemp. The layers and their thicknesses vary by model. Some double versions also offer an adjustable configuration to tailor the feel of each side of the bed.
The latex mattress category lets you explore these constructions and compare them with a hybrid spring option. The presence of natural latex does not mean the cover or every other component has the same origin.
Understanding organic cotton and bamboo fabrics
Organic cotton may be used in the ticking, while other fibers make up the filling. The bamboo mattresses in our selection use bamboo viscose in a blended fabric. The core is separate from this cover.
We recommend checking the percentages and materials listed on the product page. This lets you focus on the features that matter to you rather than inferring the entire composition from a single word.
How should you read certifications?
When a certification is mentioned, check which element it covers: the fabric, foam, or another component. Different labels involve different checks. They add to the information about a mattress’s composition but do not replace a comparison of comfort.
Where a mattress is made is a separate consideration. If this is a priority, explore our French-made mattresses, then check the materials used in the relevant models. Manufacturing location and composition answer two different, complementary questions.
Choose your support before settling on materials
Above all, a mattress should suit the way you sleep. Compare the surface feel, support, and size, then look at the materials in mattresses that meet those criteria. If you share a bed, also check whether different comfort levels are available on each side.
Our double mattresses let you start by choosing a size. For a bed with a mechanism or a trundle drawer, you still need to check the maximum mattress height, whatever material appeals to you.
Keep your mattress in good condition with proper care
Not all covers and constructions have the same cleaning requirements. Some fabrics can be removed and machine-washed; others require professional cleaning. Check this information before buying if ease of care is important to you.
We favor comparisons based on clear information: detailed composition, stated origin, comfort, and care. That way, you can choose a mattress with materials that meet your expectations while ensuring it suits the way you use your bed.
