The EN 16139:2013 standard guarantees that your chair meets Europe’s strictest safety and strength requirements. To be certified, it must pass a series of intensive tests simulating years of real-world use: 200,000 seat-loading cycles and 100,000 backrest-loading cycles, each with loads of up to 110 kg.
The frame also undergoes impact, tipping, concentrated-load, and fatigue tests to ensure that it does not deform, does not squeak, and remains completely stable over the years.
In practical terms, an EN 16139:2013-compliant chair is more than sturdy: it is designed to withstand intensive use while retaining its comfort, stability, and elegance. It offers the reassurance of a durable, reliable chair that can keep up with daily life — whether at home, at work, or in a public setting. That peace of mind matters, especially when choosing furniture designed to last.
