Storage bed base 140x200

A 140x200 storage bed base combining length and storage

The 140x200 storage bed base retains the 140 cm width of a double bed while adding ten centimeters of length compared with a 140 × 190 cm bed. This size suits you if you want more length without a wider bed. The space beneath the mattress stores bedding close to where you use it.

In this selection, the storage compartment and lift-up bed base are integrated into the bed. You can choose a complete bed foundation with different finishes and headboard configurations. The mattress is separate unless the product page explicitly describes a set that includes one.

Understanding the support and lift mechanism

Several models have a lift-up upholstered bed base. The fabric-covered platform supports the mattress, while the mechanism provides access to the space below. Depending on the construction, breathable fabric and ventilation openings promote airflow. Support specifications are listed on each product page.

The mattress weight must fall within the range specified for the gas struts. Several models in the selection require a mattress weighing 20 to 40 kg, but you should always check the figure for your chosen model. It does not indicate the maximum load the bed can support; that limit is listed separately.

Which 140 × 200 cm mattress should you choose?

Pair your storage bed with a mattress of the same size, taking its support recommendations into account. Choose the construction, firmness, and initial feel according to your preferences; compatibility with the bed base and its mechanism comes first. Some bundles in this category include a two-person Bambou mattress that is 22 cm thick. In these sets, the 140 × 200 cm mattress weighs 25 kg and is paired with a mechanism designed for 20 to 40 kg. This pairing applies to the specified bundles, not every storage bed shown. Check the list of included items to see what you’ll receive.

Interior storage and exterior finish

To assess the storage compartment, first check its usable height, whether it has a bottom, and whether it has any dividers. An open compartment works well for comforters and blankets. Grouping smaller textiles in storage bags makes them easier to find without moving everything else. Avoid filling the compartment until its contents touch the support or mechanism.

Depending on the model, the collection includes solid pine, wood-look panels, and fabric upholstery. These materials represent different types of construction. Choose based on appearance and care needs, checking the detailed composition rather than relying solely on the color shown in photographs.

Plan for opening space, access, and the headboard

A 140 × 200 cm sleeping surface takes up more space once its frame is installed. A slanted headboard or one with built-in storage can increase the overall depth or width further. Check the exterior dimensions and keep convenient access to the foot of the bed to use the lift handle or strap.

Assembly and delivery also vary: some models have a one-piece bed base, while others have a support made of several sections. Measure access to your home and check package dimensions before ordering. If you want to buy the bed and mattress together, compare the bed base and mattress sets. You can then choose a configuration with or without a headboard to suit your adult bedroom.
