The upholstered bed base 160x200 offers generous sleeping width for two adults while remaining narrower than a 180 cm size. In our selection, this size consists of two 80 × 200 cm bases placed side by side. Together, they provide a 160 × 200 cm support for your mattress.

This construction lets you move two pieces that are narrower than a single-piece 160 cm bed base. It makes handling easier, especially where access is narrow, though you should still check the package dimensions and the route to the bedroom.

How are the two bed bases held together?

Two Velcro connecting straps are supplied with the set: one goes at the head and the other at the foot. They hold the two pieces together once installed. Each piece rests on four legs, for eight legs included in total.

Which mattress should you put on a 2 × 80 × 200 cm bed base?

Once joined, the two pieces can support a single 160 × 200 cm mattress. A two-part base does not mean you have to choose two separate mattresses. Check the size of your bedding before ordering, especially if you plan to keep your current mattress.

Our model is compatible with 160x200 mattresses. You should still take the mattress construction and recommendations into account. How comfortable the bed feels depends on the combination of base and mattress; a two-piece base alone does not determine how independently each side of the mattress responds to movement.

The load limit is 250 kg in total, including the mattress. It applies to the complete bed. The mattress and headboard are sold separately.

How much space should you leave around the bed?

Allow 160 cm in width and 200 cm in length for the bed base, then account for any parts of your headboard that extend beyond it. Also leave room to access both sides of the bed and open nearby doors or drawers. A large bed remains pleasant to use when it is easy to move around it.

With its 15 cm legs, the bed base stands 30 cm high. Add the mattress thickness to determine the height of the finished bed. Setup involves screwing in the legs and attaching the connectors according to the supplied instructions.

A fabric finish and solid wood construction

Beige or gray fabric gives both pieces a matching finish. The natural varnished beech legs add a touch of light wood. The set is made in France from PEFC-certified solid pine and comes with a three-year warranty.

The stain-resistant upholstery is not removable. To maintain its appearance, spot-clean the surface with a soft cloth and avoid bleach. You can change the feel of the bedroom with bedding while keeping this base in understated colors.
