The upholstered bed base, a fabric-covered foundation for your bed

The upholstered bed base combines mattress support with the visible finish of your bed. Its fabric covering adds a soft presence to the bedroom, while its frame keeps the bed stable. Set on its legs, it creates a sleeping space with clean lines that you can personalize with bedding and a separately chosen headboard.

Our collection has solid pine frames and slats, also made of solid pine. Fabric covers the wooden construction, with a padded upper layer. A nonslip top helps keep the mattress in place every day.

Which size upholstered bed base should you choose?

Choose a bed base the same size as your mattress. For one person, the 80 × 200 and 90 × 200 cm sizes suit an adult bedroom without taking up too much width. The 90 × 200 cm size offers more room to move during the night.

For two people, the collection offers four sizes: 140 × 190, 140 × 200, 160 × 200, and 180 × 200 cm. The 140 cm sizes leave more space around the bed, while the 160 and 180 cm widths give each person more room. Before choosing, measure the bedroom, accounting for nightstands, space to open storage furniture, and walkways.

The listed dimensions are the bed bases’ actual exterior dimensions. They stand 30 cm high with the included legs: add your mattress thickness to determine the final bed height.

One-piece bed base or two bases joined together?

Construction varies by width. Bed bases for one person consist of a single section resting on four legs. The 140 cm versions are also one-piece bases, with a fifth, center leg for additional support.

The 160 × 200 cm upholstered bed base consists of two 80 × 200 cm sections. The 180 × 200 cm size combines two 90 × 200 cm sections. These sets rest on eight legs and include two Velcro connecting straps, positioned at the head and foot, to hold the sections together.

This two-piece construction makes the bed base easier to move through narrow spaces. Even so, check the package dimensions and clearance through doors, stairways, or elevators before delivery.

Which mattress should you pair with an upholstered bed base?

Our models accommodate foam, latex, or spring mattresses. You can choose the construction and comfort that suit your preferences, provided you follow the bed base dimensions and the mattress manufacturer’s recommendations.

The maximum load is 125 kg for a bed base for one person and 250 kg for a two-person set. These limits include the mattress weight, which must be added to the sleepers’ weight when checking your chosen configuration.

Beige or gray fabric for a warm bedroom

The textured upholstery comes in beige and gray. Beige pairs easily with light woods and natural tones; gray can create a soft or more contrasting look depending on the textiles you choose. The cylindrical legs in natural varnished beech add a visible touch of wood beneath the bed base.

Made in France with PEFC-certified solid pine frames, our bed bases come with a three-year warranty. To install them, screw on the supplied legs, then connect the two sections for the 160 and 180 cm sizes. The mattress and headboard are sold separately.

How do you care for your upholstered bed base?

The fabric has a stain-resistant treatment that makes surface cleaning easier. For upkeep, use a soft cloth and spot-clean without bleach. The cover is not removable: it stays in place during cleaning.
